Organization of the Care and Methods
I. Organization
1. Evaluation period
The beginning of this support includes an evaluation period and appraisal to stop the work streams that will constitute the objectives and the means to support the child. This period lasts up to one month and is completed by an individual educational program.
2. Individualized Educational Project (IEP)
The individualized educational project is the written expression of commitments supported by the institution. It consists of lines of work drawn from evaluations and assessments by different professionals and the nature of different educational interventions, rehabilitative, educational. This project is presented and handed over to parents after its preparation.
3. Evaluation and Rehabilitation of the Individualized Educational Project
Throughout the care, the individualized plan is updated according to the evolution of the child, in constant collaboration between the professionals involved, the family and the child himself.
4. Evaluation and Assessment of Care Report Card
An evaluation report card is submitted in writing to the families during each school holiday. These bulletins and the end-of-year appraisal recall the lines of work and note the changes and results from the care of the child, in reference to the objectives of the IEP.
II. Methods
The care is based on psychological and pedagogical methods tailored to their slow learning difficulties, retention of verbal information. The material used is adapted to the difficulties of children and their culture. Many behavioral programs and education are developed around the world (PECS, TEACCH, etc …). La Maison Eveil had chosen the TEACCH program (which we adapted to the local context), and gradually we are currently switching to the ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis or ABA).
